Once, Satyabhama conveyed her wish to keep a fast on the event of Sharad Purnima to seek His blessings and eternal love, to which Lord Krishna agreed. Satyabhama woke up early on Sharad Purnima and performed her routine. After taking a bath, she commenced her fast and spent the entire day praying and meditating, devoting herself to Lord Krishna's worship. She began to feel weak as the day passed, because of fasting. 

Lord Krishna, worried about her health, decided to put her devotion to the test. He disguised himself as a guru in search of charity. Regardless of her condition, Satyabhama greeted the guru with respect and affection and offered food & water to him.

Lord Krishna was moved by her devotion and revealed his true identity. He praised Satyabhama's passion and dedication and bestowed much love, fortune, and longevity.
