On the 2nd day of Navratri, Mata Brahmacharini is honored as a representation of Goddess Parvati's extreme penance. At the residence of King Himavanth, Goddess Parvati gave birth after taking the Kushmanda form. She was a powerful Sati in this incarnation, and because of this, people began to venerate her as Brahmacharini mata. The second day of Navaratri is reserved for the worship of Goddess Brahmacharini, who is Nava Durga's secondary manifestation. She grants eternity through an understanding of the Supreme Self. Tapascharini, Aparna, and Uma are additional names for Goddess Brahmacharini.

About Brahmacharini Mata

Brahmacharini Mata is portrayed wearing only white clothing and bare feet. She has two hands and uses the right one to hold a rudraksha rosary while using the left one to hold a Kamandal. Her penance for Shiva during her time in the wilderness is symbolized by the rudraksha mala. The Kamandal, a water utensil, represents the latter years of her penance when she had nothing but water. The white saree is a representation of purity, and the lotuses that are fastened to the Goddess's body stand for knowledge. At Daksha Prajapati's house, Goddess Parvati was born as the powerful Sati. She is revered as Goddess Brahmacharini in her unmarried state. She is referred to as the woman who adhered to the strictest austerity and penance, for this reason, she was given the name Brahmacharni. The Goddess is adorned with lotus and hibiscus blossoms. The Goddess deity has a kamandal in her left hand and a mala in her right. She is never shown wearing shoes. The second day of Navratri is devoted to her.

2nd Navratri Aarti

This is the 2nd day of Navratri aarti which is chanted for Brahmacharini mata.
