Why is Christmas New Year Adopted All Over the World?
As mentioned above, there are five times a new year is celebrated in India. However, January 1 is considered to be New Year's day. Why is it so?
It is because the King of Rome, King Numa Pompilius, made changes to the Roman Calendar. The changes included modifications in the number of months, which earlier were 10. Named after the Roman God Janus & March that are related to the God of War and the planet Mars, the months of January and March were added to the calendar.
