Significance of Ganpati Visarjan 2023

The Ganesh Visarjan takes place on the last day of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. On this sacred day, people bid farewell to lord Ganesha by immersing the idol in a holy river, lake, or any other water body. Additionally, people take a promise from Lord Ganesha to return back next year.

On the day of Anant Chaturdashi or Ganpati Visarjan, the devotees must wake up early and worship Lord Ganesha by offering prayers. Light incense sticks, diyas, scents, flowers, and homemade Modak. For the proceedings of the Visarjan, everyone must gather together for the Puja. 

Before taking the Idol for the Visarjan, shift it a bit towards yourself. It is a way of showing love and thanking Lord Ganesha. Moreover, it also marks the end of the Bappa’s stay at your house.
