Maa Kushmanda devi is worshiped on the fourth day of Chaitra Navratri. This incarnation of Maa Durga represents the source of happiness for everyone. The Kushmanda meaning 'the creator of the universe' is derived from three words. Ku means something, Ushma indicates heat, and Anda means creation or universe.
About Kushmanda Devi
Possessing eight arms, Kushmanda devi is also the Ashtabhuja. In all her hands, she holds elements such as the rosary, arrow, bow, chakra, mace, Kamaddalu, lotus, and an urn of nectar for good health and longevity. Her devotees are blessed with Ashta Siddhi, i.e., eight sources of knowledge, and Navnidhi - nine types of wealth.
Maa Kushmanda sits on a lion, which represents Dharma. She lives in the center of the Sun and controls the operation of the Surya Lok. Worshipers should pray with a peaceful and dedicated mind. In Sanskrit, Kushmand means pumpkin; hence Mata likes the sacrifice of pumpkin. To seek blessings from the Day 4 Navratri Goddess, devotees can also offer saffron cloth, rudraksha beads, and marigold flowers. Worshiping her removes troubles, sorrows, and obstacles from the life of her devotees. Not only this, but the native also gets the blessings of name, fame, health, and strength.

It is said that she was born when darkness was around and the world did not even exist. She then built this creation, due to which, she is also known as Adiswarupa. As per the story, Kushmanda mata's body shined like the Sun. Anyone worshiping Durga Mata with full devotion gets rid of illnesses and sorrows. Moreover, the strength, health, fame, and age of the worshipers increase when they perform the Maa Kushmanda Puja.
