The nine incarnations of Maa Durga are worshiped on the nine days of Chaitra Navratri. Siddhidatri Mata is the ninth form of Maa Durga worshiped on Mahanavami. Maa Siddhidatri meaning is synonymous with the Goddess who blesses its devotees with success and redemption. Moreover, the Goddess is worshiped by all other Gods, Goddesses, rishis, yakshas, Kinnars, Gandharvas, munis, devotees, demons, and habitants of Grihastha Ashram.

Furthermore, thanks to Mata Siddhidatri's grace, due to which half of Mahadev's body was transformed into a goddess. After that, devotees refer to this particular incarnation as Ardhanarishwar. When a person worships the goddess Siddhidatri, their desires turn to reality. Moreover, the goddess bestows freedom from all diseases, sorrow, and fear to those who worship her.

The Appearance of Siddhidatri Mata 

Just like Mata Lakshmi, Mata Siddhidatri has four arms and holds a lotus, mace, conch, and chakra in each of her arms. According to the Puranas, Lord Shiva went through severe penance to obtain eight siddhis from the Goddess Siddhidatri.

Date of Day 9 Chaitra Navratri 2024

Maa Siddhidatri Puja is conducted on Mahanavami, the ninth day of Chaitra Navratri. This year, the Mahanavami is on April 17, 2024. Devotees worship the girl child on this day as a ritual. The color to be worn by the worshippers on this day is purple as it is the favorite color of Maa Siddhidatri. Ramnavami is yet another important festival celebrated on this day. Worshiping Siddhidatri Mata

While worshiping Siddhidatri Mata, one should ensure having a pure mind and also maintain cleanliness at their home. Then they should follow the below-mentioned rituals to accomplish Maa Siddhidatri Puja.

• Wake up before sunrise and bathe early to do the Maa Siddhidatri Pooja.
• Offer cuisine rich in Navaras, Prasad, Bhog, and nine various types of flowers.
• Before commencing the puja, meditate on the goddess and repeat the Maa Siddhidatri Mantra.
• Give fruits, coconut, chocolates, bhog, five dry fruits, etc. after that.
• Present roli to the goddess after the bhog.
• After meditating, recite Durga Saptshati.
• Lastly, do aarti of the Day 9 Navratri Goddess.
• Once you have honored the girl child, you should hold extensive religious rituals in your house.
• All those taking part in the devotion should get prasad from the mata.

There are numerous benefits of worshiping the day 9 Navratri Goddess, apart from mental happiness and peace, such as -

• Praying to Siddhidatri Mata improves the 6th and 11th houses of an individual's horoscope, as per astrology.
• A person's 3rd house in their horoscope benefits much if they worship this Goddess. Moreover, individuals should worship Goddess Siddhidatri if they are afraid of rivals, are in continuous legal trouble, or aren't winning in court-related matters. • Siddhidatri Mata is the last and ninth goddess Swarrupa in the Navadurgas. Goddess Siddhidatri is worshiped on the ninth day of Durga Puja using customary rituals for the other eight Durgas.

Kanya Puja Rituals

A girl child is considered to have the power of Durga Maa, hence worshiping the Kanyas is a vital ritual performed on the ninth day of Chaitra Navratri. In some places, this puja is done on the 8th day of Chaitra Navratri too. The steps to be followed for the Kanya Pujan are:

• Invite at least nine young girls to your home between the age of 2 to 10. Include a boy in the same age category as well. 
• When the girls come to your house, provide them with a clean seating space and wash their feet.
• After that, give them a red chunri.
• The Panchopachara approach should be used to worship and feed the girls.
• Make sure the meal includes something sweet.
• After the girls finish their meals, wash their hands and feet, apply tilak, and present them with gifts as a show of respect.
• Touch the girls' feet to receive their blessings.

Maa Siddhidatri Story

According to the story of Mata Siddhidatri, when the universe was entirely dark, a little beam of energy emerged in the darkness. Its brightness grew stronger with time. Gradually, it acquired the form of a holy celestial woman.

When the goddess Siddhidatri first appeared, Tridev, also known as Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh, was born. Lord Shankar achieved the eight siddhis with the grace of Siddhidatri Mata. By the grace of Maa Siddhidatri, Lord Shiva's body was divided into two parts, thus named Ardhanareshwar.

In yet another Maa Siddhidatri Story, it is believed that when Mahishasura's crimes disturbed the Tridev, they created Siddhidatri Mata out of their brilliance. The goddess then fought Mahishasura for a long time. Mahishasura was eventually killed, releasing the three kingdoms from his rule.

Rituals for Good Luck on Mahanavami

• On Mahanavami, handwrite the Durga Ashtottara Shatnam on Bhojpatra using saffron ink. Perform the Havan while chanting the 108 names of Maa Siddhidatri loudly. After Havan, get a Bhojpatra with silver inlaid and wear it as a garland (or talisman) on your body.
• A box and a safe vault are suitable places to keep this Bhojpatra carefully. Employing this remedy will get rid of your financial problems, and your chances of getting back money will improve.
• In case you are in debt, follow this remedy. While conducting Havan on Mahanavami, vow to offer mangoes as you chant Saptashati. This remedy shall also get your money, if stuck, back. 
• Another remedy to get rid of debt is to call nine young girls to your house after the Havan, worship them, and feed them with kheer and food.
• Your career and business-related problems shall wane away if you recite with proper pronunciation and meditate the 21 teachings of the twelfth chapter of Durga Saptashati on Mahanavami.
